Gustav Medicus

Gustav Medicus is Associate Professor of Art History at Kent State University. He teaches Italian Renaissance art, with a research focus on the art of Tuscany, especially Siena, into the sixteenth century. He received his PhD from Indiana University, Bloomington, and has published in the Gazette des Beaux-Arts, Artibus et Historiae, and The Burlington Magazine. His current research project, Art and Innovation in Renaissance Siena, examines the discoveries and influences of Sienese art in the 15th and 16th centuries.
