Kjell Wangensteen
Kjell Wangensteen is Associate Curator of European Art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. A specialist in Northern European paintings, sculpture, and drawings, he oversees the IMA’s collection of European art from the Middle Ages to 1800. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University, where his dissertation focused on the rich artistic milieu of seventeenth-century Sweden. Dr. Wangensteen holds a B.A. in art history from Yale College, an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management, and an M.A. from the Williams College Graduate Program in the History of Art.
